“My goal in work and in play is to: foster hope and build communities.”

Personal

I am a wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend.  I am a proud citizen of the beautiful island nation of The Bahamas.

But before all of those roles, I am a Christian. This shapes every decision I make daily. I try to live a life of love, embracing the joy and freedom I have found in my faith.

Most days, I am a down-home girl, as my life has been on fast forward for the past 5 years, I just like to hide at home in something comfortable and just "be". I love reading...novels (I read too much serious stuff for school), traveling, and playing with our children, Daelyn Grace and Davyn Giovanni.

I am passionate about purpose, meaning-making, and living my best life. I am a recovering perfectionist but always a hard-worker.  As I work hard, I love being pampered...and most of all, I love spending time with my family and friends!

Professional

I have a  Masters and PhD in Applied Social Psychology.  I also have a Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling . I am an academic at heart.

I have worked as a school psychologist, therapist, lecturer, researcher, program director and most recently a program officer at a philanthropic grant making organization.

As a professional with a psychology degree in a 3rd world country, one learns to become very flexible and as such, my experiences and interests are varied: positive youth development, resilience, general therapy, pre-marital counseling and preparation, community development, investigative interviewing, and teaching and learning. I am passionate about the family as I believe it is the root of a healthy community and by extension a healthy country.

Oh yeah, in 2019, I published a book; The Strong One: Redefining strength and finding freedom in your true identity and it is included in the resources I have available. The Strong One can be purchased from Amazon.com in either paperback or eBook format. This book is currently under revision to be developed into a small group curriculum.

I am currently offering therapy services for adults (21 years and older). You can learn more about my services here.

Ministry/Volunteer

Legacy Church Global

I have been a proud member and leader in Legacy Church Global since its inception in 2009 (we have undergone a name change or two).  In the past five years, I have taken on greater responsibilities within my local church and now am pastor over the Health ministries.  This means I oversee the smooth running of all activities related to the wholeness and health in our members: financial, emotional and spiritual (deliverance).  I am most honoured to serve.

Currently volunteer with the Timothy Education Program. In August 2012, I had the privilege to travel to Guyana with another 2 individuals and meet with 26 families, get to know their kids, and give them the resources they would need to successfully take on the new school year. During this trip, I was stirred to replicate this program in my own country . To this end, back in 2015, along with a small group of awesome people, we launched TEP Bahamas.  This has been a labor of love! We have faced numerous challenges and as of 2020 Academic year, we are in the final year with 10 of 24 from the original cohort.  We are proud to have been a small part of these students, and their families’ journey over the last 5 years.
